STREAMER DISCORD TEMPLATE / FREE SETUP KIT

Creator Collective

One community for a group of creators: per-creator channels and live pings, a shared live feed, collab planning backstage and one moderation team.

  • 50–10,000 members
  • Advanced
  • ~70 min setup
  • 23 channels · 9 roles
  • Needs Community features

Is this template right for you?

Let several creators — a team, network or friend group — share one community without stepping on each other. Fans follow the creators they like, each creator has a corner they can moderate, collabs are planned backstage, and one set of rules and one moderation team covers everyone.

Best for

  • Three to fifteen creators sharing one audience
  • Planning collabs and joint events in one place
  • Fans who follow several creators and want to choose whose pings they get

Not ideal for

  • One streamer's own community — use Streamer Community
  • A private working space for a team with no public audience — use Esports Team HQ's private categories

Built for: Streamer teams and creator groups · Content networks and collectives · Podcast networks · Friends who collab regularly

Onboarding flow

Community Onboarding asks which creators each member follows, so they get only those creators' go-live pings and can switch at any time in Channels & Roles.

Question 1 · required

Whose streams do you want to hear about?

  • Creator One→ Member + One Live
  • Creator Two→ Member + Two Live
  • Creator Three→ Member + Three Live
  • Just browsing→ Member only
Question 2 · optional

Want to know about collabs and joint events?

  • Yes→ Collab Ping
  • No→ Nothing

Default channels: rules, announcements, meet-the-creators, live-now, collab-schedule, general, introductions, clips, collab-ideas, off-topic, creator-one, creator-two

Discord requires at least 7 default channels for Community Onboarding, and @everyone must be able to view and send messages in at least 5 of them.

Suggested first steps: Read #meet-the-creators → Pick the creators you follow in Channels & Roles → Say who brought you in #introductions

Moderation setup

Verification level
Medium — A verified email and an account registered for more than 5 minutes; a server with several audiences attracts more raids than one creator's.
Explicit media filter
Scan media content from all members.

AutoMod rules

  • Block mention spam (limit around 5), with mention-raid detection turned on if your settings offer itBlock, time out for 1 hour and alert #mod-log.
  • Block spam contentBlock and alert.
  • Commonly flagged words: the Insults and Slurs and Sexual Content listsBlock and alert.
  • Block words in member profile names: every creator's name and common misspellingsBlock and alert, to catch impersonators.
  • Custom keywords: "giveaway winner, DM me" and fake-sponsorship phrasesBlock and alert.

Escalation

  1. Reminder
  2. Message removed
  3. Timeout
  4. Kick
  5. Ban recorded in #shared-banlist for safety issues
  • Agree in writing how shared moderation works: a ban for harassment of any creator applies to all of them; conduct issues in one creator's corner are handled by the shared team, not just that creator.
  • Creators get moderation rights only in their own corner through channel overrides. That stops one creator removing another creator's fans server-wide.
  • Supporter integrations are tied to one creator's account. If the collective uses one, agree whose it is; otherwise keep supporter perks on each creator's own server.
  • Raids: pause invites (Server Settings → Invites, or Security Actions in the server menu, which can also pause DMs) and alert every creator who is live.

Recommended bots

Try Discord's built-in features first. Bot names are examples to evaluate, not endorsements; CordNexa has no affiliation with any bot. Review the permissions a bot requests before adding it.

Go-live notifications for several creators

Needed for a core feature

The combined #live-now feed is how fans find who's streaming.

Native first: Discord has no built-in go-live posting for other creators' channels, so this needs a notification bot or webhooks from each creator's tools.

Examples: Pingcord (Twitch and YouTube alerts; some platforms are Premium-only)

Collab scheduling

Optional

Finding times that work for several creators.

Native first: Use #shared-calendar and Scheduled Events; Discord polls work for choosing between a few dates.

Examples: Apollo (sign-up lists)

Step-by-step setup

These steps are specific to this kit. For the reasoning behind each stage — permissions, onboarding, testing and launch — see how to make a Discord server.

  1. Agree the ground rules first

Before building, the creators agree: who leads, how moderators are chosen, what a shared ban covers, and how new creators join.

  2. Create the server and enable Community

Turn on multi-factor authentication (2FA) for the owner, then enable Community (it requires a verified-email verification level, the explicit media filter set to scan all members, a rules channel and a community updates channel).

  3. Create roles top-down

Collective Lead → Admin → Moderator → Creator → per-creator roles → Creator Mod → Member → ping roles. Bot roles sit below Moderator and above the roles they assign.

  4. Build the creator corners

Create one channel per creator, then add overrides allowing Manage Messages and Manage Threads for that creator's role and their Creator Mod only.

  5. Set up #live-now

Configure the notification bot for every creator, mentioning each creator's own live-ping role, and allow the bot to mention roles in #live-now only.

  6. Configure Community Onboarding

Add one answer per creator to the required question. Discord requires at least 7 default channels, with at least 5 where @everyone can view and send messages.

  7. Set up BACKSTAGE

Hide BACKSTAGE from @everyone, allow Creator, and seed #shared-calendar with the next two weeks.

  8. Test permissions

Use View Server As Role as a Creator: they should moderate only their own corner, and see BACKSTAGE. As a Member, check BACKSTAGE and MOD TEAM are hidden.

Make it yours

Adding a creator

Create their per-creator role, corner channel, live-ping role and onboarding answer, and add them to #meet-the-creators.

When a creator leaves

Remove their Creator role the same day, archive or hand over their corner, and remove their onboarding answer and ping role.

Podcast networks

Swap #live-now for #new-episodes and the clips forum for episode discussion posts per show.

Rotating spotlight

Feature a different creator each week in #announcements so smaller creators get equal visibility.

Community rules

  1. Respect every creator and every creator's community. No starting drama by comparing creators.
  2. Keep each creator's corner on topic for that creator.
  3. Don't bring conflicts from other platforms or other communities here.
  4. Respect privacy: no sharing or guessing personal information about any creator or member.
  5. No self-promotion unless you're a member creator in your own corner.
  6. Staff and creators will never DM you about prizes or ask for your login.
  7. Moderators act for the whole collective; raise disagreements privately with the Collective Lead.

Need stricter or more relaxed wording? Customise these rules in the rules generator.

Welcome message

Welcome to the collective! Meet everyone in #meet-the-creators, then choose whose streams you want to hear about in Channels & Roles — you'll only get pings for them. Catch who's live in #live-now, share clips in #clips, and pitch your dream collab in #collab-ideas.

Want a shorter, professional or bot-ready version? Try the welcome message generator.

Creator Collective FAQ

Can several streamers share one Discord server?

Yes. Give each creator a public channel and an opt-in live-ping role, run one shared moderation team and ruleset, and keep a creators-only area for planning. Fans choose whose pings they want during onboarding.

How do creators moderate their own channel without moderating everyone?

Don't give creators moderation permissions on their role. Instead, add channel overrides that allow Manage Messages and Manage Threads on their own corner only.

How do go-live notifications work for several creators?

A notification bot posts in #live-now for each creator and mentions that creator's own ping role. Keep ping roles non-mentionable and allow the bot to mention roles in that channel only.

What's the difference from Streamer Community?

Streamer Community is built around one streamer: their schedule, supporters and viewer games. Creator Collective is built around several creators sharing an audience: per-creator corners and pings, collab planning and shared moderation.
