Fewer, clearer rules
Members read the first few rules and skim the rest. Put safety and respect first and keep each rule to one idea.
Use this free Discord rule maker to build clear gaming, community or private server rules. Edit every rule, preview it as it will look in Discord, and copy it straight into your server.
17 presets matching CordNexa templates. You can change anything afterwards.
Core safety rules — respect, privacy, scams, spam, safe content and Discord's own rules — are always included. You can still edit them.

These rules are a starting point for community moderation, not legal advice. Review them for your community and local requirements.
This Discord rule maker writes a numbered server rules post from a few decisions: who the server is for, how strictly you moderate, and what you allow for language, promotion, spoilers and adult content. The wording changes with those choices, so gaming rules, community rules and a private friend-group policy set different expectations.
Core safety rules are always included: respect and hate speech, privacy, scams, spam, safe content and Discord's own Terms of Service. Servers open to under-18s also get a rule protecting younger members. Everything else is optional, and every rule can be rewritten, reordered or removed before you copy it.
Rules are generated in your browser from fixed wording — there is no AI and nothing is sent anywhere. The result is a moderation starting point, not legal advice.
Presets match CordNexa's templates, such as a gaming community, study group or creator server. They are a quick starting point; change anything afterwards.
Audience decides whether minors are protected by a specific rule and whether adult content is possible at all. Moderation style changes the tone and how enforcement is described.
Set profanity, promotion, advertising, spoilers and voice rules. If you choose a dedicated channel, type its exact name so the rule links to it.
Rewrite any rule, move it up or down, remove it or add your own. Settings changes won't overwrite your edits unless you choose to regenerate.
Check the Discord preview, then copy everything into your rules channel. Long rule sets are split into messages under Discord's 2,000-character limit.
📜 Pixel Party — Server Rules
We want Pixel Party to be an easy, friendly place to hang out. These rules keep it that way, so please give them a quick read.
1. Be respectful
Treat teammates, opponents and staff with respect — no harassment, threats, slurs or hate speech (these lead to an immediate ban).
2. Protect everyone's privacy
Don't share anyone's personal information — real names, addresses, photos, contact details or private messages — without their clear permission.
3. Protect younger members
Adults must not seek private, romantic or sexual contact with members under 18.
4. Keep content safe for work
No sexual, gory or shocking content anywhere on the server, including images, links, usernames, avatars and statuses.
5. No scams or phishing
Suspicious links, fake giveaways, "free Nitro" offers and anything that asks for logins or payment are not allowed.
6. Don't spam
Flooding channels, repeating messages and posting walls of emoji, text or images all count as spam.
7. No self-promotion or advertising
Please don't post server invites, links to services, or your own content, projects or socials.
8. Be yourself
Use your own identity. Impersonating staff, other members, bots or Discord employees — including with lookalike names or avatars — isn't allowed.
9. Play fair
No cheats, exploits for gain, account selling, boosting services, or links to them.
10. Keep spoilers contained
Discuss story details, endings and new releases in # club-discussion.
11. Be considerate in voice chat
Don't talk over people, blast music or sounds through your mic, or use soundboards and voice changers to disrupt a conversation.
12. Follow Discord's rules too
These rules sit on top of Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, including the minimum age of 13 (or older where local law requires it).
13. Reporting and moderation
If someone breaks these rules, message a moderator privately rather than arguing in public. Most issues start with a friendly reminder; repeated or serious problems can lead to a timeout or removal.
Thanks for helping keep Pixel Party a good place to be.

Members read the first few rules and skim the rest. Put safety and respect first and keep each rule to one idea.
A rule without a consequence or reporting route is hard to enforce. Say how people report problems, what moderators review and how warnings, timeouts or removals are normally handled.
Strict rules need moderators who are around to enforce them. If you moderate alone, choose rules you can apply consistently.
Set the channel as your Rules channel in Community settings, keep it read-only, and link to it from your welcome message.
Rules written for a 50,000-member server feel hostile in a group of twenty friends, and nobody reads them.
Members and moderators interpret vague words differently. Name the behaviour: harassment, slurs, spam, doxxing.
If under-18s can join, say clearly that adults must not seek private or romantic contact with them.
Use a read-only rules channel that appears before any chat channel, and reference it during onboarding.

A multi-game community server with structured LFG, game and platform roles, squad voice rooms and scheduled game nights.
A persistent text-roleplay world: lore, character applications, in-character locations, out-of-character spaces, consent guidelines, events and an archive.
A customer-support server for shops and brands: product news, public questions, private tickets, order-privacy rules and protection against fake support staff.

At minimum: respect and no hate speech, privacy, no spam or scams, content suitable for your audience, and a way to report problems. Add rules for promotion, spoilers, voice chat and community-specific issues as needed.
Most servers work well with 8–14 short rules. Fewer is better if each rule is clear; group related points rather than listing every possible situation.
Yes. Every rule, the introduction and the closing line are editable. You can reorder, remove and add rules, and copy them one at a time or all together.
No. They are community guidelines for moderation. If your server has legal obligations — for example, as a business or school — get appropriate advice.
