A customer-support server for shops and brands: product news, public questions, private tickets, order-privacy rules and protection against fake support staff.
Give customers one trustworthy place for product news and help. General questions are answered in public so everyone benefits, anything about an order moves to a private support channel, staff are easy to identify, and scammers pretending to be support are blocked.
Create each category with its permissions first, then add channels inside it and keep them synced to the category. Channel types used: Text, Announcement, Forum.
Official information, read-only.
Community rules and the privacy rule: never share order numbers, emails, addresses or payment details in public.
Launches, restocks, sales and policy changes. Other servers can follow it.
Shipping delays, outages and known issues, updated as they change.
The only official store, support email and social links. Anything else claiming to be us is a scam.
One post per common question — shipping, returns, sizing, account help — written by staff.
Permissions: Deny post creation for @everyone; allow replies only if you want follow-up questions.
Forum tags: Shipping, Returns, Payments, Products, Account
Public questions in public; order problems in private.
Which channel to use, support hours, typical response time, and a reminder that staff never DM first.
General product questions that don't involve an order. Staff mark answered posts.
Permissions: Make Answered moderator-only (Manage Threads).
Forum tags: Product, Compatibility, Before buying, Answered
Where customers start private support for anything about an order: a ticket bot button, or staff opening a private thread (Discord requires Boost Level 2 for private threads).
Permissions: @everyone: view only. The ticket bot needs permission to create channels or threads here.
Customers talking to each other and to the team.
Chat about the products and the brand.
Customers share what they bought or made with it.
Forum tags: Photo, Setup, Review, Tip
Anything that isn't about the products.
Product feedback and feature requests. Staff update the status tags so people see what happened.
Permissions: Make Under review, Planned, Shipped and Not planned moderator-only.
Forum tags: Idea, Bug, Under review, Planned, Shipped, Not planned
Private workspace for staff.
New tickets and handovers between shifts.
Refunds, disputes and anything that needs a lead's decision.
Approved reply templates for common issues.
AutoMod alerts, especially impersonation and scam attempts.
Create roles in this order, from the top of the role list down. A role can only manage roles below it, and bot roles must sit above any role they assign.
Different staff setup or bots? Adapt this hierarchy in the roles generator.
Display role for the business owner.
Manages configuration, integrations and staff roles.
Runs the support team and handles escalations.
Answers questions and works tickets. Manage Threads also lets them see private threads.
Handles conduct, spam and impersonators; doesn't handle orders.
Everyone who has completed onboarding.
Opt-in notifications for launches, restocks and outages.
Community Onboarding sends customers who need help straight to the support channels, and lets everyone else opt in to launches and status updates.
Try Discord's built-in features first. Bot names are examples to evaluate, not endorsements; CordNexa has no affiliation with any bot. Review the permissions a bot requests before adding it.
Creates a private channel or thread per request, visible only to the customer and support staff, with transcripts.
Native first: Without a bot, staff can open private threads (available at Boost Level 2; Support Agents with Manage Threads can see them) or ask customers to email support. Choose a ticket bot that only requests the permissions it needs.
Keeps #status and #announcements current automatically.
Native first: Staff posts, or a webhook from your store platform if it supports one.
These steps are specific to this kit. For the reasoning behind each stage — permissions, onboarding, testing and launch — see how to make a Discord server.
Turn on multi-factor authentication (2FA) for the owner and all staff, then enable Community (it requires a verified-email verification level, the explicit media filter set to scan all members, a rules channel and a community updates channel). Consider Discord's 2FA requirement for moderation.
Owner → Admin → Support Lead → Support Agent → Moderator → Member → ping roles. Give staff roles a single distinctive colour and display them separately so customers can see who's official.
List the only official store and support contacts, support hours and response times, and state that staff never DM first.
Set up a ticket bot in #open-a-ticket, or plan private threads if you're at Boost Level 2. Test that a customer can't see other customers' tickets.
Create #faq (staff-written), #questions, #showcase and #feedback-and-ideas with their tags; make status tags moderator-only.
Add the impersonation name rule, fake-support phrases and the email/order-number regex rule, and test each one.
Add the questions and default channels. Discord requires at least 7 default channels, with at least 5 where @everyone can view and send messages.
Have a colleague join as a customer, open a ticket, and check that only they and support staff can see it.
If your store platform offers a Discord integration or you verify purchases manually, add a Verified Customer role that unlocks a customer lounge.
Add a bug-reports forum with platform and version tags, and a beta-testers category gated by role.
Post hours in #how-to-get-help and use a status message in #status when the team is offline.
Add language roles and a tag per language in #questions rather than a channel per language.
Need stricter or more relaxed wording? Customise these rules in the rules generator.
Welcome! Check #official-links so you always know what's really us — staff will never DM you first. Search #faq for common answers, ask product questions in #questions, and for anything about an order, open a private ticket in #open-a-ticket. Launch and restock news arrives in #announcements.
Want a shorter, professional or bot-ready version? Try the welcome message generator.
Answer general questions in a public forum so everyone benefits, and move anything about an order into private support — a ticket bot that creates a private channel per request, or private threads if your server has Boost Level 2.
Give staff one distinctive, separately displayed role colour, list official links in a read-only channel, tell customers staff never DM first, and use AutoMod to block profile names and messages that impersonate support.
Not in public channels. Block email addresses and order-number formats with AutoMod regex rules and ask customers to use a private ticket.
